Len Coover, Sr. had successfully run God’s Country Guide Service since 1989. At that time, Adam was 13 and started helping in the family business. He literally followed in Len Sr.’s footsteps by helping in any way that he could while learning all about the hunting and guiding business.
At the age of 18, Adam reached a milestone goal, when he became the youngest Registered Maine Guide.
While his first love was always hunting and guiding, he also joined the ranks of the Maine State Police.
After 25 years of service, Sergeant Adam B. Coover recently retired from the ranks of the Maine State Police, thus allowing him the time to pursue his love of hunting and guiding.

Being an ambitious entrepreneur, Adam also started construction and logging companies, as well as land development. This became known as Barnard Big C Ranch.
When Len Sr., decided to slow down, Adam was ecstatic to take the reins in the family business, (God’s Country Guide Service), and incorporate it into Barnard Big C Ranch. A few upgrades and some additional cabins, along with some new hunting locations, the business is still proudly operated with family values, offering professional hunts with the same experienced guides.
